Come Try Arzu at Cedar Park Farms to Market

This Saturday, June 19th, World Wise Grains will be at the Cedar Park Farmers Market with another delicious recipe for you and your family to try!

We will be serving a Gluten free Arzu Peanut Butter Crisp!  If you have still been unsure whether or not you would want to buy Arzu this Saturday is a great oppurtunity to try Arzu and talk with the owners of World Wise Grains who will be happy to answer any of your Arzu questions!

Keep Austin Gluten Free – Wrap Up Edition

As many of you know the first annual Keep Austin Gluten Free Vendor Fair was held on this past Saturday, May 29th.

We are extremely proud to say that Keep Austin Gluten Free was a real success. We would like to personally thank all the Vendors and Volunteers that helped put this event together and make it all possible. We are already looking forward to next year and we hope that you are as well.

Gluten Free Peach Cobbler

Inspired by the bountiful harvest of a neighbor’s peach tree, Arzu Gluten Free Peach Cobbler was born.  I’m hoping he sends more peaches my way soon.

Filling Ingredients

  • 5   Cups fresh or frozen sliced peaches
  • 1   Teaspoon cinnamon (Optional)
  • 3   Tablespoons lemon juice
  • 4   Tablespoons agave nectar (May substitute with Honey)
  • 1   Tablespoon cornstarch dissolved in 2 tablespoons cool water

Directions

Mix all ingredients in an 11×7 pan. Mix well

Crisp Topping Ingredients

  • 6  Tablespoons melted GFCF margarine (Such as Earth Balance) may substitute with butter
  • 1  Cup Arzu Chai Flavor (May substitute with Arzu Original and 1
  • 1   teaspoon cinnamon)
  • ½ Cup Montina or Sorghum flour
  • ¼  Cup Cornstarch or Tapioca
  • ½  Cup brown sugar or turbinado sugar
  • ¼   Cup orange or apple juice

Directions

  1. Place all ingredients in a bowl and “squish” together until all ingredients are crumbly. Pour crumble evenly over peaches in  baking dish.
  2. Bake in Preheated 375* oven for 35-40 minutes until golden brown.

Serve warm.

Makes 12 servings

Nutritional information :  12 servings ( ½ cup ) Calories 190, Fat 6 g, Sodium 85 mg, Carbohydrates 34 g, Fiber 2 g, Protein 3g.

National Celiac Awareness Month raises awareness on Celiac Disease
   
WHAT: In honor of a national initiative to raise awareness and promote dialogue about Celiac Disease, local entrepreneurs kick-off the first ever, Keep Austin Gluten Free Dialogue and Vendor Fair during National Celiac Awareness Month in May.On May 29, local doctors, food vendors, pharmacies and trade associations, along with children’s vendor “Games2U”, will be present to have fun while addressing a serious, yet little known illness called Celiac Disease which affects one in 133 people; nearly three million Americans nationwide.
 
WHO: World Wise Grains and Food for Life Gluten Free Restaurant pair up to play a crucial role in educating Central Texans about Celiac Disease and its cousin, Gluten Intolerance.
